Support AI Safety Montréal

AI Safety Montréal runs on a small budget and a lot of volunteer work. A monthly gift, even a small one, is what makes the programming predictable.

Who your gift goes to

AI Safety Montréal is run by Horizon Omega, the Canadian nonprofit that stewards it. So giving happens on the Horizon Omega site: that is expected, and the Donate button on this page takes you there. Gifts are not earmarked to a single project, but we do know where they came from, and the Montréal community is the first thing they fund.

No tax receipt

Horizon Omega is a not-for-profit corporation but not a registered charity in Canada, so it cannot issue tax receipts and donations are not tax-deductible. Better to say so before you click than after.

What your gift pays for

The gatherings

Rooms, food and materials for talks, reading groups and workshops. These are the small costs that grant budgets almost always leave out.

Working in both languages

Running and translating programming in French and English takes real time. It is also what makes this community possible in Montréal.

Continuity

Grants arrive and then they end. Donations cover the months in between, which are the months when things stop.

Other ways to help

A large gift, a sponsorship, a venue, captioning or editing: write to team@horizonomega.org. Volunteer time counts too, and there is always more to do than there is to fund.

Acknowledgements

Horizon Omega keeps an acknowledgements page where donors who want to be named are listed. We do not keep a separate list here.
